You're Not Alone
As the founder of Swedish Nannies worked as a Nanny for a variety of families in London, we know that starting a new job in a foreign country can be an exciting experience, but at times it can also be a little scary. We never want you to feel that you are alone.
We offer ongoing support throughout your entire placement, whether it's for moral support or tips and ideas or if you just have a question about the smallest thing, we're available to you.
What We're Looking For
To join us you’ll need to complete our online registration form, followed by an interview. You will need to provide relevant documentation, which can be uploaded when you register or sent to us at a later date.
Our Fee
Our service is completely free to use for Nannies and Au Pairs, there is no registration fee and we take no fee from you once you have been successfully placed with a family.
The Paperwork
We work as an agency, matching you with a family. Once matched you will become an employee of a family and they will have a number of obligations..
Contract
Once you have accepted an offer from a family you will need to sign an employment contract. We recommend that you read the contract and if you need any advice, consult a solicitor or your local Citizen’s Advice Bureau.
Salary & Tax
If working as a Nanny, you will need to provide your employer with a National Insurance Number, which can be obtained by booking an appointment at a Jobcentre Plus. Your employer will then provide you with payslips that summarise earnings and tax.
Pension
Accrued state pension contributions in the UK can be transferred to your domestic pension system. You will need to retain all details of employment and at retirement age contact the relevant Government agency. In Sweden, it is handled by the Swedish Pension Agency.
